New house, new adventures

We began the Spring of 2015 with several new adventures.  First, we added a new addition to the house, except this time I didn’t have to be pregnant.  Uma was about 15 pounds when she came home to us in Boulder, our lovely St. Berdoodle.  Who knew they actually made these dogs, but alas, she is with us.  Puppyhood hasn’t been easy, but she is a wonderful dog and keeps us all smiling.  The next adventure involves construction and renovations in the house.  Oy.  Since they are ripping off the roof of the 3rd floor and replacing it with all new windows, walls, and patio doors, we had to leave.  Hence, the third adventure, our road trip to the West.  With Uma.  And the not-yet-two-year-old.  In the RV.  With a large tent.  And please don’t forget the babysitter!  She is truly a life saver!  So we hit the road from Colorado to Wyoming, Idaho, and Oregon.  We haven’t actually pitched the tent and slept in it yet. You see, we did manage to pitch it near Jackson, Wyoming, but unfortunately, that specific campsite didn’t allow tents.  This was told to us AFTER sweating and slaving away to put up the tent an hour after arrival.  We promptly found a lodge to spend the next 2 nights.  Who needs a tent with massive swarms of mosquitos when you have a lovely horse ranch several miles away.

The best part about traveling as a family is that we get to spend so much time together, especially with Eleanor.  Ok, and Uma.  They are both super sports.  AB mentioned that it’s such fun traveling with E because she just loves anywhere we go – regardless of how crappy or ghetto the motel is, she doesn’t care.  Give her a swimming pool and some cups in the tub and she’s good to go!  Even with all the driving, she has been an incredible sport.  And Uma will just about do anything to hang out with us.  E speaks so well and proficiently that it’s like being on a date with her during mealtimes.  You can sit down and have a proper conversation!  It’s fabulous.  She’ll also tell you exactly what she wants on the menu.  Ahhh, toddlerhood…Portland, OR DSC_4241 DSC_4250 DSC_4255 DSC_4290 DSC_4305 DSC_4386 DSC_4404 DSC_4475 DSC_4509 DSC_4558 DSC_4577 DSC_4595
